William Stewart married firstly by 1 May 1484, to Janet, daughter of Archibald de Buchannan, 1st of Lettir, (she was widow of Robert Tosheoch, son of Andrew Tosheoch of Monzievaird, by whom she appears to have had no children).
They had children -
1. Janet Stewart, to whom her father conveyed the lands of Lettir on 4 July 1493. She m. firstly, Andrew Balfour, eldest son and heir of James Balfour of Boquhapple. Surviving her first husband, she m. secondly, by 4 June 1506,
to John Kinross of Kippenross and had issue.
2. Agnes Stewart.
3. Mariote Stewart.
He married secondly, by 5 October 1498, to Mariota, daughter of Sir Colin Campbell, 3rd of Glenorchy, they had issue.
4. Walter Stewart, 3rd of Balindoran.
5. John Stewart, he acquired the lands of Glenbuckie and had issue.
6. Elen Stewart.
