MURDOCH STEWART, DUKE OF ALBANY and Earl of Fife, also Earl of Menteth (S.) in right of his mother Margaret, Countess of Menteith. See MARGARET,Countess of Menteith
The Duke left the following children -
(a) Robert Master of Fife, died without issue. He was contracted to marry his cousin Euphemia,
only child of David Stewart, Earl of Strathearn. However this wedding didn´t happen and he appears to be dead by late 1415.
(b) Walter of Fife, was betrothed, firstly, to his cousin Euphemia, only child of David Stewart, Earl of Strathearn, (after his brother died) although this appears to have not been fulfilled. He was also betrothed to Janet, daughter of Sir Robert Erskine of Erskine, (Dispensation dated 27 May 1421), and this marriage appears to have taken place. He was tried at Stirling on 24 May 1425 and condemned to death. He was executed with his father, his brother Alexander and his grandfather, the Earl of Lennox, 27 May 1425. WALTER, of Fife
He was father of :

d) Sir James Stewart - his wife is said to have been a daughter of MacDonald of Antrim but there is no evidence for that and his only son James is generally described as an illegitimate son so it seems likely he didn´t marry his mother. James´s descendants are the Stuarts of Annat, Stewart~ of Ardvorlich, Baldoran, Ballachallan, Craigtoun, Duchlash, Gartnafuaroe, Glassingall, Glenbuckie Hyndfield, Ledcreich.
