ALEXANDER Stewart 'The Wolf of Badenoch'
Earl of Buchan (S.)

SIR ALEXANDER STEWART, fourth son of King Robert II. Father, was recognised as EARL OF BUCHAN (S.) in 1382. He was known as "The_Wolf_of_Badenoch," and died without legitimate issue probably in 1406. He m. Euphemia, daughter and heiress of William, 7th Earl of Ross,(Dispensation dated 25 June 1382. She was widow of Walter Leslie, Earl of
Ross, who had the Earldom of Ross by courtesy of his wife, and had issue),
He left several illegitimate children.

c) Duncan Stewart. who was illegitimate and murdered murdered Sir Walter Ogilvy in around 1390.
d) James m. Janet, only child and heiress of Sir Alexander Menzies of Fortingall, second son of Sir Robert Menzies of Weem, and had issue. James Stewart, Ist of Fortingall
e) Walter WALTER, Ancestor of Belladrum, etc.. and m. Isabel, daughter of Sir William Fenton, of that Ilk. He had issue.

g). Margaret Stewart,. She m. Robert, Earl of Sutherland.
Arms: of the Earl of Buchan as shown on the Seal of his widow, Euphemia Ross, 1394.-Three shields, Centre, Three lions rampant within double tressure flory-counterflory (Ross). Dexter, On a bend three buckles (Leslie); Sinister, Three Garbs (Buchan)-(Laing).
Nisbet, however, gives the Arms as.-1 and 4. Stewart. 2 and 3. Buchan. CREST: A Garb.
