A later impression of Elizabeth Mure from Dean Castle courtesy of East Ayrshire Council
1. King Robert III.
2. Walter Stewart, m. Isabella, only daughter and heiress of Duncan, 11th Earl of Fife, (she was widow of William de Ramsay, who had d. in 1358, and m. after the death of Walter Stewart, to Sir Thomas de Bisset. She m. fourthly, John
Dunbar), and dsp in around 1359.
3. Robert Stewart, 1st Duke of Albany,
4. Alexander Stewart, Earl of Buchan and Lord of Badenoch
5. Marjorie Stewart, m. John Dunbar, brother of George Dunbar, Earl of March,
6. Elizabeth Stewart, m. by 20 November 1373, to Thomas de Haya of Errol,
7. Jean Stewart, m. firstly, to Sir John Keith, and had issue ; and secondly, Sir
John Lyon, by whom she had further issue. She m. thirdly in 1384, to Sir
James Sandilands of Calder, and had issue.
8. Margaret Stewart, m. John, Lord of the Isles. They had issue.
At this time Robert was still only Earl of Strathearn; thus, although Elizabeth became Countess of Strathearn, she was never Queen of Scots, since she died before her husband came to the throne. From the fact that Robert married again in 1355, it seems likely that she had died by then.
