The Stewart Society Archive Benevolents Fund

Since 1910 the Society has operated a special fund which is now a registered charity. Called The Stewart Society Benevolent Fund, it aims to assist Students and other young Stewarts with their studies and careers and to give help (financial or otherwise) to Stewarts with special needs or who have particular difficulties, disablements, etc.

The Fund is permitted by its Rules to give preferential treatment to Members of the Society and their relatives.

A special relationship has been developed with the University of St. Andrews (in Fife, Scotland) by which up to thirty Stewart undergraduates (and sometimes post-graduates as well) attending that university may receive substantial Bursary Awards (currently worth about £200 per year for any one student) under the Stewart-St. Andrews Bursary Awards scheme. Whenever resources permit in the future, it is intended to widen the educative side of the Benevolent Fund's work.
