(95) ESME STUART, SIXTH LORD OF AUBIGNY, born about 1542.
In 1580 he was created Earl of Lennox, Lord Darnley, Aubigny, and Dalkeith (S.).
In 1581 he was created DUKE OF LENNOX, Earl of Darnley, Lord Aubigny, Dalkeith, Torboltoun, and Aberdour (S.).
He died 1583, leaving two sons :-

a) Ludovic LUDOVIC , Duke of Lennox.

b) Esme ESME , 3rd Duke of Lennox.

Arms: on Seal, 1582.-Quarterly; as Seal of 1578 ROBERT , Bishop of Caithness, except that bordure has seven buckles. CREST and SUPPORTERS as before. MOTTO: "Avand_ Darule" (Laing).
