Father , died: 1460

(13) KING JAMES II., known from a birthmark as "James_of_the_Fiery_ Face_" was born 1430. He was killed by the bursting of a cannon at the siege of Roxburgh Castle in 1460. The king married in 1449 Marie, only daughter of Arnold, Duke of Gueldres. By her he had issue

(a) JAMES III , King of Scotland, who succeeded.

(b) (See No.30) and Earl of March.

(c) David, Earl of Moray, died a child.

(d) John, created about 1458 EARL OF MAR AND GARIOCH (S.), On a charge of treason his brother, King James III., caused him to be put in prison, where he died in 1479 unmarried.

The king had also a natural son

(e) JAMES , of Sticks and Ballechin, ancestor of the Stewarts of Ballechin.
