(6) WALTER STEWART, the younger son, succeeded as THIRD HIGH STEWART, and adopted the name of his office as his surname.
He died in 1241.
Walter left three sons
(a) Alexander, his successor ALEXANDER , Fourth High Steward.
(b) John, killed at Damietta 1249.
(c) Walter, Earl of Menteth WALTER , 1st Earl of Menteth (S.).
